Meet Hettie

As if we didn't have enough going on, we recently decided to get a dog. We had been thinking of getting a dog but have been putting it off since we were adding a new baby to the family. We have been following a particular breeder and noticed they had some older puppies, who were already house broken and crate trained so jumped on it. We have had her about a month now and things are going well, not to say I haven't had a few days where I wanted to send her back ;)
She is very smart and has learned several commands and quickly picked up our routine. Having the play set out back is great, we all just run around and spend the afternoon playing together. It has been interesting watching the kids around the dog. They are generally very sweet but have tested the boundaries a bit. Thankfully, Hettie has a very laid back personality and has been very tolerant. It is amazing how quickly the novelty wears off. The first week everybody loved walking the dog, Chase can manage the leash himself, and was loving it. Then- Done. Nobody likes walking the dog anymore. Good thing I got Ryan to commit to being the official dog walker before we bought her ;)

Happy Halloween!

Olivia chose to dress-up as Cinderella this year (who is her favorite princess). My mom helped me make her princess gown. Chase wanted to be an ice cream man, so we dressed him as the Good Humor Man and put William in the "ice cream truck" as an ice cream cone. Drew and Linda came for dinner and then handed out candy while we trick or treated. The kids were really amped up and Chase was very focused on getting into each houses candy bucket and getting as much as possible. We had to have the "no more than two candies" talk. They loved going all around the neighborhood. Olivia already said, "I want Halloween again today."

The Big Pumpkin

The preschool put on a Halloween celebration. The morning kicked off with a play, The Big Pumpkin. And then the kids went through different stations doing carnival games. And finally they had parties in their classrooms. They even made Halloween t-shirts with their class so they would all match for the festivities.
