Baby Anna

We have had a crazy and fun week. My girlfriend, Kara (college roommate, some of you may remember her from our wedding) brought her new baby, Anna to visit us for the week. It was so nice to spend quality time with her and the baby. My kids were really good and loved watching Anna move around. We definitely had our hands full with three of them to manage but it was surprisingly calm. Anna is 10 weeks old and at that fussy belly age but she was also very smiley and loved the bath tub. Kara is doing well. She finished all her medical training and has become a full practicing doctor. She will start work at a private practice in just a few weeks. She is such a cute mother, quick to give sweet calming words to her little angel. We dedicated the week to capturing Anna in her newborn stage so we did foot/hand prints, had many photo shoots including one professional shoot. As many of you know, they don't stay little for long and I wanted to make sure Kara would have lots of memorabilia.

Beware of the Poops!
Around 4 o'clock yesterday I decided we needed to get out of the house, we were getting a little stir crazy. So I threw our stuff together and headed out to this play area we have nearby for an art class. As we are driving along the thought pops into my head that I had gotten jelly on my shirt and had forgotten to change it so I quickly look down to make sure it isn't a crazy embarrassing amount of filth on my shirt. When it occurs to me that shortly before leaving Olivia had had a poop explosion and perhaps some had gotten on my clothing and I look over... sure enough yellow poop stains down the side of my shirt :(( Well, I certainly could get out of the car with poop stains. Needless to say we had to turn around and go home to get a clean shirt on. I learned an important lesson- always check to see if leaking poop has gotten on your shirt and add to the list of things a mom must do before leaving- change diapers, get drinks, snack, shoes, check teeth, hair, and make-up and check your clothing for food stains and body fluids. Thankfully, we had plenty of time to make it to the class and we had a great time!!
As we were driving I was telling Chase how we were going to paint a picture and he decided he wanted to paint one for Meemom (Ryan's grandmother). He kept saying, "She love that, she love that" It was so cute! He loves his Meemom. She has such a sweet southern voice on the phone that he loves to call and talk to her. Last week Ryan and Chase called Meemom and after they hung up Chase started crying saying that he needs Meemom, I mean really big alligator tears and everything. We love you Meemom!!

Push Yourself Away

We had our 9 month check-up this week and our baby girl continues to grow off the charts. The average 9 month old is 18 pounds and 27 inches long, Olivia weighed in at 24 pounds and 30 inches long. No wonder it seems as though she is growing up quickly. At 9 months Chase was 29 inches but only 20 pounds. The doctor is very impressed with her strength and ability. And has assured me that although she is a big baby it does not mean she will be 6 foot as an adult, more likely she will be 5'8" ish like her Grammy.
During the doctors exam Olivia started to cry (she doesn't like being held down) immediately Chase ran over and started grabbing her leg trying to pull her off the table and away from the doctor (who is the nicest, sweetest women). He later told Ryan the doctor had hurt Olivia and made her cry. He can be such a great brother, when he isn't pushing or hitting.

Daddy's Babies

Oh, how we love our Daddy! There is something special about the Daddy person, the loving man who appears after a long day with lots of energy and enthusiasm (that Mom lost around bath time). Olivia has become quite a Daddy's girl. She tries so hard to wiggle out of my arm to get to him as soon as the door opens at night. Most evening Chase runs to the door and asks Ryan to take him out to "drive" his car (before Ryan even sets foot inside) so they go out to drive. The other night I needed to put Olivia to bed so we gave kisses at the door and Chase and Ryan headed outside and Olivia and I started upstairs but my little princess had other ideas- she was so mad- even though she was tired she did not want to miss out on fun times with Daddy. She started screaming at me and pulling away like "woman you better let me loose or else!" So recently the evening "drive" has been a family affair.

I know this is overdue, as we have played and WON 2 games already but it takes me a while to load and sort our pictures. So here we are on game day!! We have outfitted the whole family with gator gear, including the
