William's First Photo Shoot

These were taken in the hospital, less then 12 hours after he was born. We were so impressed by how nice they were, hospital photos have come a long way.

Center of Attention

As you can tell I am still recovering from the c-section which means I get down time where I rest and relax (and update the blog). I know my days are numbered and then you won't see new pictures for months :(
So as you can tell from the pictures, Chase and Olivia are totally amazed with William. They love holding him and both of them ask as soon as they wake up. Chase also likes to show him things like, "Mommy, lift William up so he can see me inside the storage cube". Ryan took the kids to Dinosaur World and when they called me to let me know they had made it safely Chase immediately asked if William and I were going to meet them so William could see the dinosaurs too. Very sweet including his baby brother in his activities.
They have been very gentle with him and patient with the new demands on Mommy's schedule.

One Week Old

We have made it through our first week as a family of five. William is doing great. He is a great sleeper so far, going 3-4 hours between feedings. He is eating well and loves being snuggled.

Welcome Home William

Baby William and I headed home on Saturday. Sunday was a bit rough but today was better. I forgot how hard the changes in hormone can be, not to mention the change in sleep. We have lots of help and extra hands to keep baby snuggly and well loved (and everyone else fed).

I'm Here to Check the Baby

The kids have been hard at work getting to know their little brother. They have been taking good care of him. Chase told the nurse who came to do vitals that he did not want any sharp things near the baby. Olivia told me she wanted to hold the baby, could I put my boobie away.
So fun to watch!
We are heading home soon. Enough of the hospital already!

Our Newest Love

Well here he is!
Although we were scheduled to go in for a C-section on Tuesday, my body had other plans. I have been having contractions for several weeks, which is normal but something the doctors wanted to be cautious with because of my 2 previous sections. We have been doing fine and they have come and gone but on Thursday my belly started to hurt maybe showing signs that my body was stretched to the limit. By evening I had a lot of pain and started having contractions every 3 minutes so the doctor thought it was time and waiting could be risky. So Ryan and I headed to the hospital at 8pm. We got checked in and they got all set up and we went back to the OR at 10pm. William was born at 10:25pm. He is perfect and my surgery went very smoothly (the best one so far). The doctor told us that indeed my previous incision site was very thin and it was definitely better that we went ahead a few days early.
Of course we were up the whole first night. Ryan's mom, my mom, Randy and Jeannie came to see him that night. My sister and her kids came the next morning.
Chase and Olivia were in bed when we headed to the hospital so after a good nights sleep they woke to hear the news that William had been born. They got ready and came right over to meet him.

Sweet and Sassy

We attended a Sweet and Sassy birthday party for our close friend MacKenzie this weekend. It was really cute. The girls dressed up, had nails painted, make-up done, and their hair done before performing a runway show. Olivia enjoyed all the girly activities and made a beautiful princess!
