Pee Pee on the Potty

I have recently considered selling our home and moving into a Port-A-Potty to save some money, since I basically live in the bathroom these days. Potty Training- so fun! For all of my friends who are still parents of infants, you have so much to look forward too!

As most of you know, we have been potty training Chase of several months now but we still are not what I would consider "potty trained". Chase can easily use the potty but mostly refuses to poop on the potty and if he is feeling particularly unmotivated will refuse to pee on the potty as well. We go back and forth between underwear and pull-ups, sometimes even into diaper if he really digs his heels in.
The surprising part is that Olivia is totally into using the potty. She is only 15 months but almost exclusively poops on the potty (even tells me "potty" when she has to go) and pees on the potty several times a day. Every time she uses the potty I am shocked that she is doing so well. I have been joking with my family that I think she maybe off the diapers before Chase, maybe that is the motivation he needs to commit to potty use.

Welcome Baby Leah!

Our close friends, John and Kim, welcomed their second daughter last weekend! We are so excited for them. We have been watching Kim's belly grow and Chase has been learning important lessons on how babies grow in mommies' bellies. (Unfortunately, he now asks everyone if they have a baby in their belly and has even walked around with his blankie under his shirt talking about how he has a baby in his belly.) I showed Chase some pictures of my belly the day I went into the hospital to have him and he got a little sad and told me he missed my belly.
The kids were outside with Ryan when I got the call that Kim had delivered Leah, so I went straight outside and said, "Yeah, Baby Leah is here!" to which Chase replied "How is Kim?" both Ryan and I were amazed that he was thinking about her :)
Anyway, Kim and Leah are doing great! We went over for a visit this week and Chase wasted no time holding Leah. Of course, as soon as he was done I took over and only put her down for potty breaks (not mine- Chase's). She is so cute and sweet (and YES in case you are wondering I would like another one).

If Mommy says No, Just ask Grandma!

We spent last weekend with Ryan's parents and had a great time. Linda had taken the day off to prepare for our arrival and had her house ready for two curious, busy kids. She really out did herself with new toys and supplies to make our stay fun and relaxing. The kids loved playing with them and seeing the dogs. Olivia even got to take her first bubble bath.
Both of them have been talking about missing Gramma and Grampa this week. Olivia has been so cute calling Linda "Mawmaw" for Gramma. She picks up the play telephone and says, "Mawmaw?"

Doctor, Doctor- Give Me Some News

My kids are obsessed with playing doctor. They love being both patient and doctor. Chase is always trying to run tests on us and loves to tell us that things don't look good.
We recently visited Chase cardiologist (where he screamed bloody murder and we were not able to have any tests done) so now he has added an EKG to the list of services he provides. The EKG
involves placing several sticker all over you belly and then attaching wire (various electronic chords we have floating around) and making some soothing beeping noises. It is very cute.
