Professor Chase Turns 6!

Several months ago I saw an advertisement for a company that does "Mad Science" birthdays. I showed it to Chase and he immediately decided it would be perfect for his upcoming birthday, he loves science and he is always begging to do "experiments". After weeks of preparation the day finally arrived! As the guests arrived Chase scanned them in, he was working security and then gave each one a lab coat and ID badge.
The scientist came and put on a fun show for us. She had a styrofoam head that Chase melted with acetone, an egg that he help suck into a bottle, and even some fun with dry ice. After the show the kids went outside to do their own experiment, making slime. Then we had cupcakes and petri-dishes filled with jello and gummy worms.
Chase had so much fun! One of the moms at the party told me she went up to Chase and said, "Great party Chase" to which he replied "I didn't do anything. I just told my mom science and this is what she did." He did tell me as I was tucking him in bed that that was the best party ever. I guess that is the highest compliment, now how do I out do myself for next year ;)

Two Front Teeth

Chase has lost his two front teeth, bringing the total to 4 now. We had noticed his top teeth had gotten very wiggly and then about 2 weeks later he was eating a cookie and out one came. He said he bit into the cookie and it shifted sideways and when he went to straighten it with his hand it came out.  The other one was super loose but he wasn't in a hurry, so about two weeks later he was brushing his teeth and out it fell. He looks and sounds so cute. Although it has only been two weeks his new teeth are already out.

Back On the Farm

My best friend just hosted her daughter's 3rd birthday on a local farm. We had Chase's 4th birthday there. It was so fun. The kids love seeing all the animals, and they even get a pony ride and a hay ride. William was braver than any one year old I have even seen. He held the chicken and bunny. He even got pecked in the chest by a goose, and although he cried for a moment he got over it quickly and got back down to check out the rest of the ducks and geese out (the owner removed the offending goose).
