Sweet Sunshine

Olivia is such a ray of sunshine in our home. She is all smiles from the moment she opens her eyes in the morning til the time she lays down at night. I am so luck to have such an amazing little girl in my life.
I have especially loved watching Chase as a big brother, it seems he takes his role more seriously each day. He told the librarian at story hour not to look at her while she was singing- he was waving his hand saying "No, Baby" because she looked at her!! He brings her toys when she gets fussy and ran to get me burper (without being asked) the other day when she spit up. My sister was holding her last week when Olivia started to cry and he grabbed my sisters shorts and started pulling her over to me saying "Baby Momma" meaning give the baby to mommy. He gets down into her face and has the most interesting conversations with her (which she finds so funny, must be a short comedy routine he is doing) and insists on her trying out his big boy toys (car, desk). It is so special to watch him develop this loving relationship with his sister.

Baby Dedication

We participated in the Baby/Family Dedication this weekend at our church. We have found a church here that we love and we were eager to bring our babies before the church to commit to raising them in a Christian home. It was very nice and Lynee and the kids were able to come down and celebrate with us.
I have been volunteering in the children's department, rotating between Chase's class and Olivia's class. I am not sure how long that can continue since my daughter has starting having some separation anxiety. After the dedication I went to drop her off and about 5 seconds after I handed her over she starting wailing- I didn't even make it out the door. I waited a few minutes to see if she would settle down but I couldn't leave her there obviously very upset from the start. My girlfriend also dropped her daughter off and her daughter only made it 15 minutes before they had to get her from the service- it must be the age. Hopefully, she will outgrow it soon so I can enjoy the church service again without juggling toys.

First Feeding

Olivia had her first sampling of real food this weekend. I was trying to wait until her actual 6 month birthday but I couldn't resist her growing interest in food. She stares at everything we eat and it has become impossible to eat or drink anything while you are holding her because she tries to get at it with such determination it is virtually impossible to stop her. She wasn't sure what to do with the cereal I gave her the first day but her second feeding went much better she actually opened and swallow some spoonfuls. I can't wait to see her reaction to fruits and vegetables!
