Home Run

Chase taking off for his big around the bases run!

Chase and Olivia attended their first baseball game (minor league). Ryan has been itching to get outside and watch some baseball but I had some reservations about whether either of our little ones would sit and watch the game. Thankfully Ryan found the perfect event for us to attend as a starter game. The Tampa Bay Yankees have Sunday afternoon games where about 300 people attend in a stadium that fits 3,000 (not actually calculated just roughly estimated). But we got to sit in front row seats right behind home plate (until we realized that the section was totally empty because it was int he blazing sun, then had our choice of any upper level seats in the shade). It was especially nice that Chase could run around without bothering any serious baseball fans. At the end they allow children to run around the bases so Ryan took Chase down. They did not allow parents to run with their kids on the field so Ryan tried to coach Chase about how to run (but of course he is two and has no idea what Ryan is talking about). Chase's big moment came and he took off (because he does understand "RUN!") and made it about 20 seconds out into the back field before he started slowing down and then looking around like"What the hell do I do now?" Thankfully, they allowed Ryan to run out and take Chase the rest of the way around the bases, it was really cute!!
