We MISSED You!

A big part of our trip up north was visiting family. We spent some time with Ryan's grandmother, Memom. Chase has always been quite fond of her but it was nice they could spend some time at her house. They were both a little timid at first as they had just woken from an overdue nap, but as toddlers go it didn't take long for them to warm up and grow very interested in the new surroundings (and all of the antiques within their reach.) Thankfully nothing got broken and we were able to enjoy a lovely visit and dinner with Memom!

My aunt made her way up to my mom's house to see the kids. And had even made a special book for Chase. Several weeks ago Chase got on the phone with my Aunt during one of my mom's conversations with her and mentioned that he likes "stinky and yucky stuff". Something we hear often like when someone says what are you having for dinner? Chase will reply "stinky and yucky stuff" Thanks Chase :) And his favorite animal has been a skunk for some time now, which is how this stinky thing started. Anyway, my aunt made him a beautifully painted book of all kinds of stinky things and each picture includes stinky strips of felt soaked in a stinky smell. It is so cute.

And finally, we met our new niece Lillian! She is so cute and the kids were so excited to meet her! Apparently she didn't like my eye glasses and cried every time she looked at me the first visit but I put my contacts in for visit #2 and she smiled at me several times. She is beautiful and we are so happy that we were able to visit with her and my bother and sister-in-law.

We are so thankful we could get some special family time in before our new arrival this summer, when life and travel will be even more chaotic (if that is possible).
